With new passport requirement in effect can anyone please tell me if I can travel to PR with just Driver's Licences? Do I need any other documents while traveling there? Do we go through Customs?

You can travel to Puerto Rico without a passport. As someone stated earlier, Puerto Rico is exempt from the passport rule.

From the State Department:

"Q. Will travelers from U.S. territories need to present a passport to enter the United States?

No. These territories are a part of the United States. U.S. citizens returning directly from a U.S. territory are not considered to have left the U.S. territory and do not need to present a passport. U.S. territories include the following: Guam, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Swains Island and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. "

You don't have to go through Customs either... but when you're ready to leave Puerto Rico you need to have the US Department of Agriculture scan your bags. They have scanning stations at all terminals and the process takes less than two minutes.

If you are traveling from the US and are an american citizen then you do not need a passport to get into Puerto Rico or to go back

I heard on NPR radio today that US citizens do not need a passport when traveling to and from Puerto Rico, even with the new passport legislation. I'm not sure about customs, you should do a web search and stick to government sites for reliability.

you may return and forth with your id and delivery certificates (once you're from the U. S.) instead of the passport yet i think of initiating this December you are going to wish a passport even for family contributors return and forth. you may not verify with an embassy because of the fact Puerto Rico does not have one..this is the U. S. embassy..
