It is not the income support money which I want it is the housing benefit and council tax benefit is it at all possible as Im single, pregnant and got a mortgage to pay every month til I get on my feet and £103 is not enough to cover the mortgage alone.

Not income support as you are getting maternity pay. You should get housing and council tax benefit and if you are on leave from your job then working tax credit. When your baby arrives you should get child tax credit and child benefit. If your income is low then you should get sure start maternity grant. Sorry to hear about the father. I went through the same kinda thing. You will come out the otherside a much stronger person.

No you wont get any help especially not for housing benefit or Council tax they will say if you have enough money for a house you wont need it and they will then class it as savings and wont help you at all.

No your not aload, and even if youdid claim income surport housing benifit wood not pay for your morgage.they only pay rent. the council say if you can aford to buy your own house you can afford topay

i hate men that wont take responsibility!!! selfish *uc* well its his loss anyway!! plus the baby doesnt need a father like him anyway!! you should definitely go to the job centre and get some advice.or even look it up on the internet! theyre really good:-) good luck!! x x x

Get in touch with your local benefits office and explain your situation they will be able to tell you what benefits you are entitled to.

I agree with It girl. Only thing is though, to get the SureStart grant you need to live in SureStart designated area.
