A hot toddy won't cure your cold but it will make you feel tons better and will help you sleep.
My dad used to make the best hot toddies in the world. This is his recipe.
Juice of one lemon (juice it by hand and try to get a few "bits" in the juice)
Two tablespoons of honey (the best quality you can get your hands on)
A double shot of good whisky (a malt if possible)
Mix them all together in a mug and pour in boiling hot water (keep a spoon in the mug to prevent cracking) Drink it as hot as you can.
Sometimes he would add some powdered cold remedy to the drink although I couldn't recommend this 'cos of the inter-reaction of alcohol/medication. (When he did this, you could almost guarantee that you would sleep off your cold - I once slept for 32 hours (and right through the worst of the cold) after he made me one.)

Not a cure but you'll feel a lot better. Get a slice of lemon and poke some cloves into it, put it in the bottom of a glass with a big spoon of honey in it (soothes your throat and honey is also antibacterial) tot of whisky and some hot water. Get well soon!

Hi! It doesn't CURE a cold, but the ingredients help to sooth areas that are feeling poorly.
What I make is with lemon juice (vit C), honey to sweeten (soothes sore throat), if you're an adult, you can add a little brandy which relaxes you.
Just adding honey and lemon to a nice hot cup of herbal tea is helpful too.

Nothing "cures" a cold, it is caused by a virus and neither hot nor cold showers will get rid of it. It just has to run its course. Taking cold medicines can help the symptoms and make you feel better but won't cure it.

Take a saute pan, add 1 TBSP of olive oile, 1 minced garlic clove.
1 chopped chile pepper, just as hot as you can take
Cook over low heat till the garlic starts to brown
Add this to cold chicken noodle soup, warm soup up on a stove top

Warm brandy or whiskey with some lemon maybe. I think it is what people used to use before the invention of NyQuil. The idea of it is to get you to sleep. The thing that is wrong with it is that alcohol is dehydrating. You dont want that.
