I am against abortion it sucks. I'm against it for many different reasons. But, what I would like to know is, if it is considered a sin or not. And if it isn't do you believe it should be. Why or why not? If it is not a sin I think it should be considered one. This is because, 1 of the 10 commandments is; Thou Shall Not Kill. Abortion is killing your baby. People keep telling me abortion is not murder, the baby is not even grown yet, it's still in it's tissue stage...blah blah blah. I don't know much of that baby tissue stages stuff I'm only 13. But, I do know this when babies are first in your stomach they have a heart. And once that baby has a heart it is a LIVING thing. Therefore you are murdering a living thing no matter if it is still in its "tissue" stage. This is what I think, I would like more opinions for more ideas.

:-) Thank You

What is conception and fetus?

You have several answers already, but I'll add mine. Life bgins at conception, period. Everything that is needed to create that baby is there at that point. Nothing is added. All the DNA is presnt and accounted for. The tired old argument about 'it's just a bunch of cells, or tissue' is the lamest, most lacking excuse for commiting the murder of your own child that there is. A sin? Of course. What possible excuse for killing your baby could you tell God come the judgement? I didn't think I could provide for it? God would say that you should have had enough faith in Him to know that He would have provided for you and the baby as well. The plain truth is that people abort their pregnancies out of selfishness and the simple fact that they want to play, but not to pay. Refusal of responsibility. This country started to backslide away from God when the decision in Roe vs. Wade came in, and has steadily kept going.

it's definately a sin! and abortion is murder. a crumb of bread is still bread, right? no matter how small it is, it's still bread. and yes an unborn fetus is a human being, too. Here is some research proving what/when/how unborn babies develop.

Conception:
i believe that at conception, the fetus is a human being. it starts to rapidly grow after the mother and father's cells come together to give the new life 50,000 genes from each!

3 weeks old:
When the fetus is only 3 weeks old, the heart is already beating! The mother probably doesn't have a clue that she's pregnant yet.

6 weeks:
The unborn baby can respond to touch already AND has recordable brain waves! That sure sounds to me like they're alive! just because they can't talk, people think it's fine to murder them.

8 weeks:
All of their organs are in place. They can somersault, backflip and scissor-kick! impressive!

10 weeks:
Their fingers and toes are already formed perfectly!

16 weeks:
Their nervous system is developed and working.

18 weeks:
Their vocal chords are fully developed and they can start to cry. (but they can't be heard, because there's no air)

5 months (20 weeks):
They can start getting hiccups if they swallow amniotic fluid!

6 months:
They start to grow hair and can do natural swim strokes. It is possible they could survive outside the womb at this stage.

7 months:
They can recognize their mom's voice and can grip very strongly with their fingers.

8 months:
They can expirience hearing, touch, and taste.

9 months:
Their lungs are mature to breath on their own and they can be healthily born!

I don't know about you, but this sure sounds like a living person living inside of the mother! It's absolutely appalling the forms of abortion and how they abort babies. It's graphic and i don't know how the doctor's can live with themselves. the website below gives graphic descriptions of the procedures, and interestingly enough, the procedures have major risks involved with the mother, some even risking death! I can't believe why or how ppl could do such things! i'm very glad that you understand that it is utterly and completely wrong and is definatley murder! God Bless :-)

The Bible does not say that abortion is a sin. God commanded his followers to kill and rip open pregnant women (Numbers 31:18, Ezekiel 9:6, Hosea 13:16), and killed millions of pregnant women himself (Flood & Plagues). There are even Biblical instructions on how to abort the pregnancy of a woman who is suspected of being unfaithful (Numbers 5:12-31). FYI, the 6th/5th Commandment is actually "Thou shalt not murder" which makes it kind of odd that he promotes killing people so much. Do you think God would COMMAND and HELP people to do something if he considered it a SIN?

According to the Bible, man became a living soul when the BREATH of life was BREATHED into his nostrils (Genesis 2:7). Fetuses do NOT breathe through their nostrils until after BIRTH. In Biblical times, male babies were not counted as persons until they were a month old, and female babies were not counted at all (Numbers 3:15). The Bible also says that some would be better off if they had never been born (Ecclesiastes 6:3-5, Matthew 26:24). A woman can choose whether or not to believe the Bible when making her own personal decision, but it is not legal to use religion to make laws.

A fetus is never in a woman's stomach. It grows inside her uterus. Despite having a heartbeat, its organs are not fully developed and it is not capable of living outside a woman's body for many months. Murder, as a LEGAL term, cannot apply to fetuses in the USA because people do not have Constitutional rights until BIRTH. Read the Fourteenth Amendment.

Thanks to Roe v. Wade, American women have the Right to Choose whether to give birth or have an abortion. In countries like China, where women do NOT have that right, they can be FORCED to have an abortion. Contrary to popular belief, abortion was NOT illegal before Roe, it WAS done whenever the GOVERNMENT approved it. Roe allows a woman to base her decision on HER beliefs, health, and life, instead of those of some stranger politicians'. If a woman is against abortion, she can choose NOT to have one.

Hopefully, you will be educated about safer sex and birth control, and make wise choices based upon your knowledge, so you will never be faced with an unwanted pregnancy. No matter what your personal feelings or decision would be, it is important that you learn all of the FACTS about abortion, instead of blindly following propaganda and hysteria.

To Christians it is considered a sin. Not being a strict Christian I am for abortions. There are several reasons why women may choose to have one some of which may be for health reasons or because the fetus may not survive after birth. They should not be judged as murderers for that. I would rather an aborted baby than find one in a garbage can or left on the steps of a police station instead of being taken care of.

Is abortion a sin? Since thou shalt not murder is a commandment and abortion is murder, Obviously it's a sin. All who sin with out repentance falls short of the glory of God and will pay the eternal sacrifice. But in the Bible it says all sins are equally evil and even to lie is no different than murder. There is no reason for abortion. Everything happens for a reason, God makes no mistakes.

Contraception is much better than abortion.
Abortion is better than destroying the mother's life with an unwanted pregnancy.
The fetus are not in your stomach but in your uterus.
They do not have a heart to begin with. It takes weeks before there is a heart.
The scriptures say that it's not a living thing with a soul before twelve weeks after conception but of course the bible thumpers do not read that section.
You are certainly a vegetarian.

No matter what anyone tells you, whether abortion is a "sin" is a matter of personal judgement. Why? Because no one can agree on exactly what DEFINES "human life," much less the actual point when it begins. If you can't figure that out, you can't say whether it is "murder" or not.

Lots of things have hearts and are living things. A cow has a heart. Are you a vegetarian?

There is one indisputable fact, though - it's NOT A BABY. It's a FETUS. It becomes a baby when it is born.

Sorry I wrote so much

No one is for abortion. No one on this planet! It isn’t a black and white issue. If you made it illegal, that wouldn’t mean that people would stop doing it. Women would go to black market abortion clinics and that is VERY DANGEROUS to the woman’s life. What about the right of the woman? I think that abortion is pretty bad. That’s why I am telling you know that when you do have sex WHERE A CONDOM! There is a lot more to this issue. I could write a novel, but remember that not everyone bases their morals on the Christian bible. Hope this helps. :-)

Abortion is a sin. You have a child at the moment of
conception, so the child is not an "it" there's actually a child the whole way through.
Humans are made of tissue and so is a baby so what's the difference?
Here's a bible verse from Psalm 139: 13-16:
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderfull, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was hidden in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me are written in your book before one of them came to me.
