Just womering as I was watching an episode of Holby City on BBC tonight and this woman on the show stopped eating for 28 days for some sort of reason connected to losing her kids and just subsisted on water. It wasn't an eating disorder or anything that she had. I think it was sort of like a Biblical cleansing or punishment thing!!.
So what do you think? How long could you abstain from food?

Technically, a couple of weeks, but if I got payed by the hour for not eating, I could probably last 24 hours. I would just eat lot before I go to bed, and sleep a long time.

I did a 24 hour famine for charity once.

I can go 2 days, maybe 2 and a half. When you're stressed and tired, all you want to do is go to sleep, wake up, and go to work again. Then I need a whole pizza.

When I was homeless, the longest I went without anything to eat was about 2 and a half weeks! finally getting something to eat out of a dustbin (Mouldy bread)

i went 5 days without food.i went hiking up snowdonia with the college and a friend got pneumonia half way up a mountain.i jumped in the helicopter with her and the burkes in my class left my bag full of food and clothes up the mountain.

Id end up doing something bad if i didnt eat for a day. I get really narky when ive not eaten.

the longest I have gone is about a week. I am sure I could go longer if I really was determined.....28 days would be killer!!!
