Sometimes it does but not always. And sometimes God uses our free will to bring about the answers. Here's an example... I have Leukemia, and I had been deahtly sick from it. All kinds of chemo, radiation, bonemarrow transplant... all that and I wasnt getting better. My mom, as well as I and others close to me prayed for something to help me. (even though they arent Christians technically, they still prayed) and somehow, my mom, at age 49 with no help from fertility Doctors gets pregnant! Her Dr, knowing I am sick, educates her and myself on stemcell treatment using the umbillical cells after the baby is born. Something that costs an arm and a leg if you dont have a specific donor. My mom has my baby brother 4 days before she turns 50, he is beautiful and in great health and I am doing a lot better now than I was 2 yrs ago.
Neither my mother nor I thought "hey get pregnant, that'll help" and we both know mom could have made the choice not to remain pregnant due to her age. So this was more of an intervention from God than a free will thing, though some free will was involved.

Praying is not a waste of time. Prayer is communication between man and God through Jesus Christ why prayers are not answered is because mans heart is deceitful. Sometimes when christians pray they have no faith in God and they will answer the prayer themselves I have seen christians pray for finances in churches and they have no faith to go to their prayer closet and ask the Lord in secret, instead they beg openly hoping someone will answer their call for money. God shall be their judge. Man is destined to die once and after that face judgement REPENT before that day is upon you.

I do personally agree that praying to a higher being will not always yield results with positive action far more likely to achieve desired outcomes. However, it is perfectly conceivable that the devout believer through prayer may find strength within themselves to attempt to solve their own problems or achieve their desires. This is certainly true to the theory of god or a higher being not performing "magic tricks" and giving us what we want on a silver platter, rather providing us with the resolve and strength to find answers and solutions within ourselves.

praying is not a waste of time, watching TV or reading useless books are, things that get you nowhere in life are useless and a waste of time. when people pray, they are asking God for things, or thanking Him, and a thankful person is blessed. if you don't pray, then your walk with God becomes bad and the things you do become wrong with the intentions. praying is what we would always do, cause we Christians are calling home when we do that, we are talking to God personally.

Why do you ask Christians only? Why not address all peoples?
Your question configuration is bias!
If you chose not to Pray - that's your business, go to it.
Why not leave other peoples business alone?
With all of the ugliness in the world, why do you have to add to it?
There is a saying, "If you cannot say something niece, keep your mouth shut"

Depends on who you are praying to and whether or not you are in the spirit, unselfish in your prayers and if you have the faith of a mustard seed. Ask of the Lord in this manor and he will answer. You may call it free will, choice or whatever. I call it an answered prayer.

God desires us to pray to Him- He says he hears the prayers of the righteous- meaning those who Love Him and are saved by His wonderful grace- those who truly seek Him with all their hearts, souls and minds.....But he says he is far from the wicked.
God wants us who believe to definately pray to Him- He wants our prayers and He hears our prayers, and yes he knows what will be the outcome- and it will be according to His will---but none theless, we are to pray to Him and spend that time with Him and also praise Him as we pray! Praise is very important!

ever heard "God works in mysterious ways"? He does. When you pray you have the responsibility of doing everything you know good, using God's Will for you not just your own- but then there comes the other part of the situation where you have to let go a little bit and let God handleit. He moves Mountains y'all!!!

Absolutely false. There's no way to explain the number of people healed through prayer than as an act of God. Prayers are answered every day.
