I work with the mentally ill and many of them do realize that they are not on the same plain as the rest of the world. It can be very depressing to them because sometimes the thing they want most in the world is to be "normal". There are those who are so far out there that they do not see themselves as different - we are the ones that are different to them. Please be careful with the "i know i am crazy" thing. Mental illness is really not a laughing matter. I'm not scolding you, just asking you to be compassionate and aware that there are a lot of folks out there who are hurting and can't help themselves.

I have heard that people that are crazy are the last ones to know.

If you are actually crazy, as in trying to chew your nose in a rubber room kinda crazy, then no you do not know you are crazy. I am not sure what they think though.

That is a different type of crazy. People who have a mental illness do not know they have problem. They do believe everyone else has a problem. Peope who have these problems need to take meds. to put their chemical imbalance back to "normal levels"
