First you have to decide what type of visa do you require. Then read the website of the US Embassy/Consulate near your place of residence. Complete the visa form and attach all necessary documents, along with your Passport and requisite fee. Visa for US would not be a problem as long as you are able to jusitfy your visit to US along with finances to support you during the trip.

Curious is right, as always. In addition, London sometimes will not accept visa applications from people who don't live in the UK, and making an appointment and visa processing can take several weeks, if not longer. Plus they only return passports via a courier service.

Depends on with what type of visa you are in UK. If it's a work visa, and you have been staying there long enough (usually 6 months atleast), then you could apply in UK itself. Else you will need to apply from India.

Best would be to call the embassy directly and enquire from them.

It depends upon what you are doing in the UK. You are generally advised to apply at the US foreign mission in the country in which you have significant ties.
