Grew up in the Church. Read Bible and Book of Mormon stories growing up, always felt good in Primary, read actual Book of Mormon all the way through at age 12 and again at 15 and got a very strong testimony at that age after going through all 4 commentaries on the Book of Mormon by W. Cleon Skousen, and which I still use today with updates as needed. Attending Seminary, Institute, and serving a mission also increased that knowledge and experience, because the Holy Ghost repeatedly testified of true principles.

I grew up in the church. I was eternally sealed to my husband one year and two months ago in the Lord's temple. What a wonderful blessing - the promise of eternal family!
Growing up I always felt like it was true, maybe because I was going off my parents' testimonies...but then I knew I had to gain my own and KNOW if the church was true.
Through many special, spiritual experiences I have gained my testimony, which of course is still growing. The Holy Ghost has made manifest in my heart and mind countless times that the gospel is true, that I am a daughter of God, that He loves me, that my Savior loves me, that repentance is real and prayer is real, and that the Book of Mormon was truly translated by Joseph Smith and that he really spoke with God our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.
I encourage you to pray, with a sincere heart, to your Heavenly Father, ask Him if these things are true, I promise you will receive an answer. Read the Book of Mormon also, I know without a doubt that any person can become closer to our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ by reading and living by its teachings than by any other way.
Good luck.

Churches are neither 'true' nor 'false'. They may PREACH truth or falsehoods, but they aren't truth or falsehoods themselves. They are institutions.

I 'believe' my church teaches the truth. I 'believe' that LDS comes closest to knowing the truth of God, but that is not the same as 'realizing' it, since I and you will bever KNOW the actual truth until we are deceased, and perhaps not even then.
