i know some people who have had sex on the first date. i dont think u know them that well to be that intimate with them. some people have gone out for 2 years before. what is the reasonable time to wait? how long should u know the person?

Honestly, each situation and each person is different. And you will know when the time is right. Also, you shouldn't push your partner into anything, go at a pace they are comfortable. You could also talk to your partner, and see where they stand on the issue.
As a rough guide, I would say a few months. But like I said, each couple is different.
