I'm wanting to sell my car, but don't know where to begin! I mean there seem to be so many options available - what is the best method?
And how do I know how much to advertise / sell it for? Its a renault clio P reg 1.2 3dr 30,000 miles with 9 months MOT left. What is this worth? or where would I find out how much it is work. Thanks

Check out autotrader.com and see what prices your car is up for.You could sell it on ebay as well, just checked autotrader and the price there up for vary from £600 to £900.

I find for regular cars like yours the best place to advertise them is your local paper. If that is a genuine 30k miles car it might just surprise you with price.

If the mileage is right I'd pitch it at £995 and dont take a penny under £875. Normal P reg clio with average miles I'd expect approx £550-£650 in a private sale.

Ebay might be worth the £10 to put up a buy now at £995. Due to the low miles might get some interest there.

Ignore the blue book suggestion by our dim yankee friends. They dont realise life exists outside the USA and their silly book isnt relevant here.

Good luck!

check out your local papers and autotrader for prices.
if you sell it privatly ie. in the paper, make sure that
1, you actually own the car. and
2, you describe the car honestly and accurately.
do that right and a private buyer has no rights to complain if there turns out to be a problem with the car.
i sold my car in good faith and it nearly all went pear shaped..
oh, and make sure keep a receipt of the sale and fill out the v5 form.

If you aren't sure of the particulars, perhaps you would do better to find a car lot that would sell it for you on consignment. Or they might buy it from you outright. You would just need to figure out what it would take to make you happy.

autotrader.co.uk

guide books are very well and good, but look on autotrader for a similar car to yours. Advertise it at the same price as a higher mileage car, and it should sell

decide how much you want for it and add fifty quid, when buyers come round to look they will start haggling then knock of the fifty quid and bobs your uncle or fanny`s your aunt.
