Definitely Reagan-National (DCA). It's just a couple miles from downtown and there's a subway station connected to the airport. It's also the smallest of the airports there and easiest to get around. Unfortunately it's often the most expensive of the airports there (possibly because it's geared towards business travelers?) I would say BWI is the second most convenient and then Dulles. Dulles is the largest and most annoying airport. It's closer to the VA suburbs though and BWI is closer to most of the MD suburbs, especially east of the city. (And is usually the cheapest). But if you're going downtown then Reagan-National for sure.

National (a.k.a. Reagan ... DCA) is by far the most convenient. It is located in Arlington, Virginia, just across the river from the main tourist part of Washington. There is a stop on the Washington metro right at the airport.

BWI (Baltimore/Washington International) is quite a distance east, about halfway between Baltimore and Washington. It has convenient service on commuter trains that connect it with both major cities.

By far the least convenient airport is Dulles. It's a long way away in Virginia, and even a bus ride there is expensive.

DCA is the most convenient. THis is also known as "National Airport" and "Ronald Reagan Airport". It is RIGHT on the Metro, so you don't need to rent a car.

Often the cheapest airport, though, is BWI, and for the fare difference, you can often afford a whole week of a rental car, or certainly a limo into DC.

Dulles is closer than BWI, about a $40 cab ride, and can also have great air fare deals.

I always check all three, and usually fly in/out of BWI and Dulles.

There is a hotel right in the airport, the Fairmont Vancouver Airport, and there are many nearby. Most of them have a shuttle service between the hotel and the airport. Just google "hotels vancouver airport" and there will be lots to choose from. They're all okay to stay in.

Reagan. It's right in the middle of the city. There's another one in Virginia, Dulles, but it's confusing to navigate through and it's about an hour away.
