I'm going to this banquet hall for my friends birthday and i'm going to look all primped up,
I don't want anyone to take my pic, for fear that they will upload it on the internet , (I'm not self-consious of my look thats not the problem)
So how can I avoid having my photo taken without seeming rude or looking that i'm 'self-consious'?
By the way, I won't ask them to 'Please Not put it on the internet', because teenagers these days post all their photos on the internet.

Looking at your picture I think you really should not have any worries. To be honest the hair looks good on you and I really do not know many people who can pull off that coloring and still look attractive. As for being able to afford clothes, trying going to consignment shops and look around, usually you can find some really good deals on quality clothes for an affordable price even on a students budget. Overall, I would just go with the flow of things if you wish to go out with your boyfriend and friends. You are dating him to begin with not everyone else. If he thinks you look sexy they way you are then take your confidence in that. If he wanted a more traditional look in a lady he would be with someone else and not your. It is not easy going out of a comfort zone, however if you truly think it will make a difference maybe look at purchasing a wig for a different hairstyle. This way you really do not need to change your hair style/color and at the same time you can act out a part of someone else while you are out for the night. Basically pretend to be another person. Although I do not own any wigs, my mother use to and I can remember how much fun it was playing in them when I was growing up and pretending to be all these different people. Your make-up looks fine from what I can tell in the picture although your entire face doesn't show, I really think you just need to concentrate on having fun and believe that the person you are with likes you for who you are and not what 'Society' thinks you should be. Hope this helps, have fun and enjoy your night out.

Be polite but firm. No need to say "I don't want my picture posted on the Internet"..cause that may make some people try all the more to take your picture.
Personally wouldn't worry so much about looking like self consciousness is your reason for not wanting your picture taken... acting little demure may make most stop trying to take the picture...and thats the result your looking for. Right?

All you need to do is say "No pictures, please." If anyone is rude enough to try and take a picture, just hold your hand or purse up in front of your face. That will achieve your objective, won't it?
If they take one without giving you time to block the shot, say, "I'm sorry, but you didn't ask me to take the picture. Please delete it." Then stand over them until they do.
By the way, I think you are being a little paranoid about this whole Internet thing. But you have set out your rules, and people who do not comply with them are being very inconsiderate.
Good luck!

You shouldn't worry about your picture being on a normal site.... as long as you aren't drunk or nude then it isn't a big deal. You said yourself that you're going to be primped and pretty so it should be a good picture. Not taking a picture IS rude, you can't avoid that.

Are you going to be naked?
My point being, why worry? Are you that odd that you're likely to be put on the internet? And it's not like being on a billboard. One would have to know to search for you.
Honestly, I can't think of a way that doesn't sound at least a little ... well not rude exactly, but party-pooperish.
I understand not wanting to be photo'd, but it just seems better to suck it up.

Why sweat the small stuff? If your picture is good enough to be published, perhaps you can be the next Leonardo DiCaprio.
Look at my pic. Certainly not much to speak of, but I'm secure in who I am and don't mind even if you have an opinion of my looks.
Opinions are like - well, you know, and everybody has one.

I wouldn't worry so much about your picture being on the internet... nobody's going to see it... and if they do, who cares?.. it's not like it's going to ruin your life... why are people so paranoid about this?... nowadays, being spotted on the internet is like being spotted in public... My advice is don't even go to the event if you're that worried because anything you do to avoid your picture is going to look rude...

If you are looking pretty then why does it matter if they use the picture? Just don't do anything you wouldn't want your father to see.
Then again, you could always walk away when you see a camera come out, or turn your head.

Just ask to check out all their pictures before you go and delete off all the ones that you are in without them knowing it.
And if you tell them they can't take your picture or put it on the internet, then you can sue them if they do.
Wow, I can't believe all these people saying why worry about it. Because I don't want my freakin' picture on the internet, that's why!

Say, "no pictures, please". That may not stop them, but it's the only thing I can think of that meets your requirements of not being rude or appearing self-conscious. If you just want to avoid being rude, you can cover your face.
