allrecipes.com is a great site for recipes too
this is how my mom made shepherds pie, very different from the usual way and everyone i have given the recipe to really liked it
Shepherds Pie
brown 1 lb of hamburger in a large frying pan, while boiling potatoes for mashing or you can use instant potatoes if you prefer(i prefer real) add some onion powder, worcestire sauce and pepper to beef while browning if preferred. when beef is done, add a can of corn, can of green beans and a can and a half of tomato soup(condensed and do not add water). add some more onion powder, salt and pepper, stir and heat until it bubbles a bit. oven should have been preheated to 375. put hamburger mixture into glass or metal nonstick baking dish, 8x8/9x9/or 9x13. spread mashed potatoes over the mixture, put a few pats of butter or margarine on top of potatoes, and bake for 30-45 minutes, until mixture is bubbling and some of the potato peaks are golden brown
i have even had picky kids eat this and like it , hope you do if you try it :)

A general hint about ingredients would have been helpful.
However, how about broiled lobster (or just the tail), scalloped potatoes, hunter-style green beans.
Sometimes just a minor change in how you cook something makes it extra special ... ie. green beans - if you normally serve them plain, try adding a little onion, another good thing for beans is to add a dijon sauce; another is to make a hunter sauce with mushrooms and tomatoes.

how about no boil lasagna? or breaded chicken? last night i made a great tomato/cucumber/mozzerella cheese salad too. :)
no boil lasagna:
package of no boil lasagna
two cans of tomato sauce
1/2 lb - 1 lb ground beef (lean) or italian sausages
mozzerella cheese (shredded)
ricotta cheese (or cottage cheese)
saute chopped onions in a pan. in a separate pan, cook the beef adding lemon juice, salt & pepper to taste. add pasta sauce to the pot (no need to cook the sauce)
in a foil lined baking pan, add a layer of tomato sauce. place lasagna noodles in 1 layer. spread ricotta cheese on top of the noodles. sprinkle a good amount of mozzerella. add a good layer of sauce. top with lasagna noodles. repeat the steps until you have the # of layers you want. the top layer should be noodles with sauce and mozzerella sprinkled. bake covered for 30 minutes...... then uncovered for another 15. voila!
tomato mozzerella salad
u need tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, basil, round intact ball of mozzerella cheese, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar
cut fat round slices of firm tomatoes.. the bigger the tomato, the better
slice onions into rings
slice thin rounds of cucumber
cut round slices of mozzerella
wash basil leaves
assemble as so: slice of tomato on bottom, then onion, then mozzerella, then tomato again, and then basil leaf and slices of cucumber for garnish. u can stick a toothpick in the middle if desired to keep the shape! pour olive oil and balsamic vinegar on top, and top w/ salt and pepper
breaded chicken:
skinless, boneless chicken
lemon juice
italian bread crumbs (u can buy at supermarket)
4 eggs
flour
preheat oven to 350. wash and de fat chicken. rub w/ lemon juice and add salt and pepper. dip into bowl of flour, try to cover all of the chicken. then dip into bowl of whisked eggs. then dip into bowl of italian bread crumbs. brown in pan w/ olive oil, then transfer onto foil lined sheet. drizzle olive oil on top of chicken and bake for 20 min. turn over, and add lemon juice or olive oil on top. bake another 10 minutes or until done.
good luck!
