I do that, and I would say outloud Do you worry about death, and then a voice that is different than mine, would say no I don't. But the problem is that I worry about death.

Then I say outloud are you bald, and the voice different than mine would say no. But the problem is that I am going bald.

I have conversations with these voices.

Who am I talking to?

schizophrenia:

Paranoid

The key feature of this subtype of schizophrenia is the combination of false beliefs (delusions) and hearing voices (auditory hallucinations), with more nearly normal emotions and cognitive functioning (cognitive functions include reasoning, judgment, and memory). The delusions of paranoid schizophrenics usually involve thoughts of being persecuted or harmed by others or exaggerated opinions of their own importance, but may also reflect feelings of jealousy or excessive religiosity. The delusions are typically organized into a coherent framework. Paranoid schizophrenics function at a higher level than other subtypes, but are at risk for suicidal or violent behavior under the influence of their delusions.

I sure do! A lot of times that's the only way I'm going to get an intelligent and sensible answer! Or at least the answer I want. It's also a really good way for you to get ahold of an issue that you've been "fretting" over but have not resolved, or a way to balance all the factors of the issues in your mind to come up with a resolution that you'll truly feel good with. Whether you want to say you're talking to yourself, or your conscience, or God, or the devil doesn't really matter. What matters is that you use that wonderful aspect of yourself that God gave you in order to resolve struggles that we all feel from time to time. God Bless you.

Someone answered your question with schizophrenia, but I think a lot of people have/do experience what you're going through (including myself) and that if we all had schizophrenia, there would be a LOT of schizophrenics walking around...

For me, I think I've just gotten in the habit of talking to myself. I'm alone a lot, and I do have some odd conversations. Many don't make sense at all. It's possible you could be discussing things with your subconscious, or possibly even the personna of someone else you know. Like, sometimes I will work out things I want to say to people without even realizing I'm doing it. I anticipate their reactions but I'm actually alone talking to myself. It doesn't mean your schizophrenic. I think schizophrenics, in general, believe their hallucinations and have a lot of trouble differentiating them from 'realtiy' as they're 'supposed' to see it.

It's said there is a fine line between genius and insanity. Did you know that many people talk to themselves? Seriously. Many people in studies have admitted to it as a way to find a solution to a problem.

Remember, you are only crazy when you don't think you are.

If you are having anxiety about death and baldness or other issues, please seek counseling at least for awhile. Life is too short to live with anxiety. Good luck.

you are talking to your inner self or your consionce.... basically what u are doing is weighing up different scenarios or equations. some ppl just think them in their head and some say them aloud. but every1 does it whether aloud or not. im a believer in astrology and sometimes when i do it (ive caught myself once or twice shhh) i blame it on the fact im a libra.
i caught myself weighing up pros and cons of something saying to myself ...'if i do this, this will happen but if i do the other this will happen... which is best?.. i think this way coz bllah blah...no this way coz blah blah...' LOL my daughter was looking at me like i had 2 heads!

Are you just pretending that these voices are there, or do you actually hear them? I used to talk to myself all the time- I'd have whole conversations, but I always knew that I was talking to myself.

If you are actually hearing voices, you really ought to go see a psychiatrist.

My mom does this except she always pretended that the different voice was the cat or one of my stuffed animals. I think you are just doing this to boost your self esteem. It is probably stuff you worry about, but hearing that you are ok makes you feel better. I wouldn't worry, everyone does pep talks, albeit maybe not outloud with different voices, but I think you are ok.

Sure I talk to and listen to myself. I need an intelligent conversation once in a while.:) Sounds like you and yourself are playing "Devil's advocate" with each other. It's a normal duality in everyone.

I don't know who you are talking to, but I have a friend who has multiple personality disorder. She says that she grew up thinking that everyone could hear other voices talking in their head.
