In case you guys didn't see the document before...

http://www.foxnews.com/projects/pdf/Iraq_WMD_Declassified.pdf

Many people were saying that bush would have been screaming it from the rooftops..have you guys ever thought that maybe he was trying to keep the info somewhat concealed? Instead of having all the terrorists hear and then grab their shovels to go find some WMDs? Then the other thing was that people were saying IRAQ never intended to use them on us, that is true, but the point is that if terrorists got their hands on them...not good.
So I don't know what else to tell you all, belief or disbelief is your decision.

To the person above:

That is true, but do you not think its a big deal to have "old" WMDs? Do they not kill you as much? Just kinda dead?

This was known before the war started. The problem was, that there was a lot of chemical weapons from pre-desert storm, that the Iraqi military lost. Most of it was to be used for defensive purposes as retaliation from any one that attacked then first. Some of it was also supposed to be used offensively against the Iranians.

Now for clarification; the document was proved wrong, and in usual Fox fashion, they never clarified. The WMD's that we invaded Iraq over, was the ways to produce Chemical and biological weapons that the Iraqi's had been producing since the end of the first Gulf War. None were found. Also, President Clinton also believed that Iraq had WMD's, and wanted to invade Iraq earlier (just think, if those gutless Republicans had let him do it, we would be pulling out of Iraq right about now).

The Defense Intelligence Agency emphatically stated that even if they had WMD's, the Iraqi's would not use them, because the Iraqi's were not given the gas masks and chemical suits they would need to wear if they deployed them.

no, what people are critical of is the fact bush said that they were actively running weapons programs. all of the munitions listed are described as "pre-gulf war" which means they were leftovers from the 80s. this is not evidence that saddam was making weapons as bush had continually claimed.

During a speech at the Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum in Denver, President George W Bush declares: "It's a person who claims he has no weapons of mass destruction, in order to escape the dictums of the U.N. Security Council and the United Nations -- but he's got them. See, he'll lie. He'll deceive us. And he'll use them."

do not try to put words in your president's mouth. is he not responsible for his own claims and policy?

During an address to the nation, President George W Bush declares: "Intelligence gathered by this and other governments leaves no doubt that the Iraq regime continues to possess and conceal some of the most lethal weapons ever devised."

all he had was leftovers from what we had sold him. i believe that whatever was in iraq was probably more carefully looked after when saddam was in charge and there wasn't this constant influx of syrians... sure these weapons are dangerous, but is it a worthwhile endeavor to go to war because you know what sorts of old crap your enemy has? that wasn't what we were told. it was never the administration's story that "we know he didn't use it on kuwait... let's go get it back!"

the question is not, did saddam have weapons or why didn't we hear about the weapons found... it is, why aren't we finding what the president told us we were going to find? is his intelligence that bad or was he lying? i don't know what else to tell you.

Where do you think IED's come from? They're simply made from bigger explosive devices. And what name can you put on the bigger explosive devices except WMD's?
