I have severa asthma. I also used to have a poodle. When ever I was going to have a bad asthma attack, she would sit in front of me and whine and shake. I thought she had to go pee and I would walk her, but as soon as we got back I would have a severe asthma attack. After about 3 times of her doing this and not having to pee, I realized she could tell 7 to 10 minutes before I would have these severe attacks, she would know!!! This went on for years and she would warn me by sitting in front of me and whining. I would get prepared for an attack and sure enough, she was never wrong. It was her way of being concerned for me and warning me of a soon to be attack! She died about a year ago. I miss her terribly. I still mourn her death.

I got and get that reaction. I had a Bulldog (English), before my current dog, and actually had people cross to the other side of the street while walking her. I even had one lady ask why I bought a baby killer, when I had 2 children and a small baby. I told that lady off. My Bulldog (Lacy) was the sweetest soul, and there is no way she would hurt my kids. She was very protective of them, and I am sure she saved my daughter one day. A guy came up to our fence and was trying to talk my 7 yr old girl into coming up to the fence. Lacy got between them and started barking. She would not let him in the gate, or let my daughter get to the gate. I went to the door to see what was going on and the man bolted. Lacy got a nice treat that day. I also get this reaction with my Boxer. I am used to it by this point, and though it angers me, I try to educate people. I tell them that my dog is sweet and gentle, just because she is big does not mean she is bad. I let my kids pet dogs that we see out walking, but the rule is they must stay out of the dogs reach till they ask the owner if it is ok? If the owner says Yes I have no problem with my kids petting any dog, but I am always right next to them. I do not want my kids to grow up afraid of animals, especially since my oldest boy wants to be an animal conservationist. Add I guess my dog (boxer) maybe scary looking, but I can not see how with those big droppy ears, and those sweet puppy eyes. I just see the big softy I know she is.

It is amazing! When my girlfriend got MS, our two cats, who were just a year old and did NOT want to be anywhere but outside, spent the next 2 months at the foot of her bed!
They cuddled, purred, and basically acted like someone else's cats!
I think it's the best. :)

My dad died a few years ago. My mom had previously passed away, and Dad lived alone, but was very capable of taking care of himself. However, he had a massive heart attack, and when his body was found, his dog, Jake, was laying by him guarding his body. Before Dad passed away, he had adopted Jake who was a stray in his neighborhood, and I asked Dad why he named him Jake. He reminded me of a country/western song that says, If I die before I wake, feed Jake. Needless to say, my husband and I now have Jake!!! He's part german shepherd and part whatever, and we really love him, and yes, he can tell when I'm sad.

Cats cannot talk. They do have feelings. She obviously picked up on your feelings. Be happy, that is proof she loves you!
