Guys get girlfriends for different reasons...but it depends on the type of girl they get.
If a guy gets a girlfriend that's very materialistic, nine-times-out-of-ten, he's got her for the sex. She's something that he can "show off" to his friends and know that they'll envy him for being able to get such a good-looking catch.
However, if a guy gets a girlfriend that is a TRUE woman, he's in it for a deeper purpose. This type of woman is honest and faithful to him. She loves him, 100%, and she wouldn't do anything to disrespect him. This is the stability that the man is looking for in his life, and he'll try his best to hold on to her...even if he's cheating on her, he's trying to sneak it because he knows that what he's got at home is too good to let go.

When I was with my ex he didn't spend any money on me, didn't waste any time on me (why we broke up), he done broke his own heart. He ditched me for my friend then she decided he wasn't a good toy so she dumped him. We were friends and he came running back to me and I left to go home
