Robert Frost. Wow. Such elegance of language, so much packed into so few words. Just check this **** out and tell me it doesn't capture the plight of woman perfectly:
------------------------------------
The Silken Tent
She is as in a field a silken tent
At midday when a sunny summer breeze
Has dried the dew and all its ropes relent
So that in guys it gently sways at ease
And its supporting central cedar pole,
That is its pinnacle to heavenward
And signifies the sureness of the soul,
Seems to owe naught to any single cord,
But strictly held by none, is loosely bound
By countless silken ties of love and thought
To everyone on earth the compass round,
And only by one's going slightly taut
In the capriciousness of summer air
Is of the slightest bondage made aware.
----------------------
I dare say Frost is more dense and exquisite in poem's like this than Shakespeare.

Dr Suess is great. I am working on my master's in speech therapy and there are so many awesome things that Dr Suess does in his writing that encourage speech and language growth in children. His creativity is awesome!
I would have to say, though, that my favorite poet would be Robert Frost. His writing is so quiet and peaceful. I love it.

Langston Hughes, actually. His poems are real, simple, and thought provoking.
Suicide's Note
The calm,
Cool face of the river
Asked me for a kiss.
