No. Committing suicide is a sin against the 5th Commandment, a mortal sin. Therefore, you would go to Hell if you were to die by suicide.

Self-sacrifice, however, is not considered suicide, so to speak. So, dying to save another's life will not send you to Hell.

While suicide cannot be justified, it is comforting to remember that the future prospects of our loved ones rest with a God who fully understands that weaknesses and frailties could push one to such desperate action.
The Bible says of Jehovah: “As the heavens are higher than the earth, his loving-kindness is superior toward those fearing him. As far off as the sunrise is from the sunset, so far off from us he has put our transgressions. As a father shows mercy to his sons, Jehovah has shown mercy to those fearing him. For he himself well knows the formation of us, remembering that we are dust.”—Psalm 103:11-14.
Only God can fully understand the role of mental sickness, extreme stress, even genetic defects, which may influence someone comtemplating suicide See Ecclesiastes 7:7.

Who can say whether one driven to suicide might have had a change of heart had his fatal attempt failed? Some notorious murderers have, in fact, changed and earned God’s forgiveness during their lifetime.—2 Kings 21:16; 2 Chronicles 33:12, 13.

The hope that most of the dead have will not be in heaven anyway. It will be on earth when the earth is restored to paradise
Psalm 37:11,29
John 5:28,29

A lot of people say no, and some say yes and some say I don't know. This is a hard question for me- I do know the Bible says "He who endures till the end will be saved" --that is written to believers. So I lean towards "no" --only because there are some scripture that shows this is a selfish act, and not of God. We are to lean on God during this life, He is what keeps us grounded and fills us with peace and Joy, as we seek Him and His direction and know full well He is taking care of us. We must always rely on Him and never doubt He is with us always. For Jesus says "I will never leave you nor forsake you" --those who are saved by His precious blood. So to commit suicide is pretty much a selfish act, and saying you could not handle things, when your faith should of been in God alone- that is why the Bible speaks of faith so much--because we need our faith to grow stronger in the Lord each day- and that is why He calls us to study His word and fellowship with other believers. If we do not, we are easily snatched away.

The is soul is destined to live in these material bodies for certain number of years, and these bodies are made of material elements and subtle elements also(mind, intelligent and false ego).
Lest say you have to live 85 years and you commit suicide at 80, those 5 years left you have live as ghost. You killed the body but your soul remind with the subtle body only, and you will suffer more because your material desires won't be able to fulfill it without material body.
Is also a sin.

I think it all depends on why. If there was a mental illness there, then I don't think you were really thinking about it as you would without the illness. If you did it to get out of trouble, or because you thought life was too hard, then there will be some hard questions to answer after death.

By the way, Jett, I like your answer!! More insight then most people will ever have. Having worked with mentally ill people, I know what you are talking about. I haven't experienced it myself, but I have seen people who are, and even on the outside, they look like they are eating themselves away from the inside out. Mental illness is nothing to joke about, and nothing to take lightly. It is very serious, and very hard to control. He's right when he says that you don't know until you have been there, or dealt with someone who has been there. Good luck to you Jett!! I hope things are better for you now!!

I've read quite a bit about people who've had those NDE's (Near Death Experiences). By and large they have described a peaceful state.

However, the experience was not the same for those who were revived from suicide, those accounts sounded awful.

These people were as close as you can get before passing the threshold. Call a suicide hotline, where caring and trained people can help you.

Over 60% of those who commit suicide are suffering from clinical depression, a chemical unbalance in the brain, some worse than others. Having suffered from clinical depression for nearly three years of my life, I can say that those who say yes have no idea how deep a whole the mind can drift into. These people are not in control of their actions, unless you have felt your body eating itself away why you are still alive, I wouldn't answer this question.

I love how people who lived a normal life can answer this question, when there are those who are abused horribly as a child or are physically disfigured horribly. Some people can handle these things, for some it leads to serious mental illness. I know that many of the people who commit suicide have held on much longer than others still alive could. Some people make me sick.

The "only sin" that will keep anyone from heaven is "unbelief". If the person was an unbeliever when they killed them self, then they would go to hell. If they were a Christian (a real one, one who believes) then they go to heaven when they die-regardless of how or who did it.

There is no heaven so I wouldnt worry about it. But, if there IS a heaven, thus a GOD, then Im sure, if he is the kinda bloke they all say he is, he will forgive you!!! Infact, I would give him a piece of my mind and have strong words with him about the crap life he dealt you which made you commit suicide!!!!!

Maybe this joke will cheer you up (or maybe it will make you jump??)

First, does this hypothetical person believe in Jesus Christ as his/her Saviour. Second, if he'she does believe this, why would he/she want to throw away this life God gave him/her?

I know that depression can be a deep place of despair, but God can lift you out from this. I speak from experience. Truly: try praying to God with an open heart.

As for IF a believer in Christ who committed suicide would go to heaven - I think that answer awaits from God to whoever dares to try.

I believe that once a person exercises saving faith in Jesus Christ, he or she is forever in the family of God. God never kicks anyone our of his forever family. A number of Scripture passages support this view. For example, in 1 Corinthians 12:13 we are told that at the moment of salvation the Holy Spirit places us in the body of Christ. Once we are infused into the body of Christ, we are never excised from the body. In fact, Ephesians 1:12 and 4:30 indicate that at the moment of believing in Jesus Christ for salvation, we are permanently "sealed" by the Holy Spirit. At that point, we are God's everlasting property. That seal guarantees that we'll make it to heaven.
Moreover, we read in John 10:28-30 that it is the Father's purpose to keep us secure despite anything that might happen once we have trusted in Christ. Nothing can snatch us out of His hands. God's plans cannot be thwarted (Isaiah 14:24). Further, Romans 8:29-30 portrays an unbroken chain that spans from the predestination of believers to their glorification in heaven.
Another fact we need to keep in mind is that Christ regularly prays for each Christian (Hewbews 7:25). With Jesus interceding for us, we are sucure. (His prayers are always answered!)
Of course, the fact that a believer is secure in his salvation does not mean he is free to sin. If the Christian sins and remains in that sin, Scripture says that God will discipline him or her just as a father disciplines his children (see Hebrews 12:7-11).
