No one has a right to demand who can answer the question. If you put it out there its open to everyone to answer. Why ask a question when you only want a biased opinion on it anyway. The whole point is to get a variety of opinions otherwise you already know the answer.

Maybe, but some answerers are dogmatic and annoying. Sometimes people just want an answer on a specific question. They don't want to get preached to (Although it will happen anyway).
If somebody asks: Where in the Bible did Paul say x or y, all they want to know is where that passage is. They don't care for someone saying: It doesn't matter because it's all fiction. That doesn't answer the question.
Conversely, if you ask a question about Buddhism and the proper usage in Buddhism (or some other religion), some Christian will invariably tell you that religion is wrong and you'll be damned for following it. We're already aware of the intolerance of certain people. No point in reminding us every time we want to ask a question about something that's outside their particular sphere of interest.

Anyone can answer any question, its true! BUT if I address a question specifically to Christians, that is who I am going to pick my best answer from. In some cases, say if a Christian leaves a smart @$$ remark in my question to atheists, I may even report someone!

If you want a general answer, ask one. If you want a more specific answer, address who you are asking. Why would that be annoying?

AS for Bias... sometimes that is something you want to point out with your question. In a lot of cases, you have to ask two or three of the right questions to the right people to get one underlying answer to a question through comparative results. If I asked a question about Jesus, do you really think I want 20 atheists telling me he isn't real? Obviously the mature ones won't, but that's another story. If I address the question, I can ultimately filter out some of that.

well look at it this way some people only want a controlled environment meaning that they only want one particular group so that they don't have a whole bunch of different religious or non religious points of view it isn't always personal anyway i'm agnostic and that's why i do it the way that i do it but you're right this is an open forum and anybody can answer the question if they have an opinion on a topic or question

Torah, which Christians claim is the inspired and literal word of God, states clearly that each man must find his own way to God. For thousands of years Jews have understood this to mean that God considers proselytizing to be in bad taste. Somehow the two religions that adopted Torah and went on from there with books of their own have ignored this part of God's Will and aggressively evangelize on every occasion. I understand that some of these people, both Muslim and Christian, are genuinely concerned about my spiritual welfare. Nonetheless it is very annoying to have these idiots quoting Torah at me and insisting it means something that it was never intended to mean. Talmudic scholars over the millenia have argued and interpreted Torah. When some arrogant fool starts telling me that "eschew the blood" in Leviticus is an admonition against medical science this Jewish doctor is more than annoyed. Frankly, the greatest argument against Darwin's Law of Natural Selection is the Christians and Muslims, who appear to be totally unable to evolve.

I assume the person only means that the question is directed particularly to atheists, or christians. For instance, if I wanted to know something about the Muslim faith, I might say: "Here is a question for Muslims". But what if Christians or other non-muslims answered, with information that might be less than accurate? So I would request that only muslims respond.

Actually there are many questions athiests cannot answer when it comes to our walk with God- and scripture and what we believe. So this question does not make sense. Some questions yes can be for all to answer....but a lot of questions that are geared towards christians are about the Bible and our beliefs. Where as questions to athiests are geared to what they believe.

Not annoyed. Puzzled maybe by the way people here seem to think everyone is Christian or Atheist.

But yes, post a question and people who want to will respond. You don't get to decide who can answer.

Why should it annoy me? There are certain things only Christians would know or ought to know.
I am convinced Atheists don't know much but will say anything just to fill in the space.

Yep. I would rather them say from a certain perspective than try to prevent everyone from speaking. I leave it alone when a Christian is looking for other Christian opinions if they don't try to tell me to.
