A hospital is where a person is admited and stays in a hospital. A hospice is often a privately run company, where they will provide nursing care for someone that is terminally ill. If you find a good hospice company, they're priceless. When my father had cancer, we had one company that was just wonderful. They will often do the things that are too hard for you to do, like bathe someone, rotate them, etc. The are in close contact with the doctor and will notify them when new or stronger meds are needed, or other equipment. With hospice, the person they're helping stays in their own home. I hope that helps!

Hospice usually isn't a place you go. It's an alternative to going to the hospital, in that you get care in your own home.

Much of this is more than just medical care, but also grief counseling for the family, emotional support, etc.
