Hi there. I am really sorry that you’re feeling this way and I empathize with you. I believe that the reason why you seam so unable to find the right solution to your problem is because at some level you understand that you’ve been looking for the solution in the wrong places. What I mean by that is that you’ve been looking for it outside of yourself, and deep inside, you know, that just like the problem itself, the solution is within you and within you ONLY. Try for a while to forget about what’s out there and instead focus on what’s within you, and if you’ll do that with sincerity and perseverance, I promise you that you will find what you’re looking for and your constant struggle will be over.
Don’t fight the depression and don’t try to run away from it. Depression is there to help you; it just wants your attention, it wants to be heard from you, not condemned. Be kind to it and ask:” What are you’re trying to tell me? What is the message behind this pain that I’m feeling?” And then just listen and don’t be judgmental to what you hear.
Work with your pain, not against it. Remember; your pain is not there to hurt you or to make you feel miserable, quite the contrary; it’s there to point out to you that there is something that needs your immediate attention. Something, that if worked on can bring you indeed not only relief from your pain, but also incredible joy! Your depression is your invitation to a new beginning. It is your ticket to a whole new you and a whole new life. It is up to you, and only you, to accept this invitation. Nobody can do this for you and you know this already.
Go inside and face your pain; feel it with its all intensity, be compassionate with yourself while you do this. Don’t be afraid of it, and even if you are; dare to stare you fear right into its face! Those feelings, as uncomfortable as they are, they just want to be recognized by you and once you’ll do that they will just vanish. That’s right; they will loose the power and simply stop existing in your world. And the new feeling will replace the old ones; the new feelings like feeling loved for example.
I hope that you’re not feeling discouraged. I know that this is very hard work, but hey; look at yourself; you’ve been doing pretty much everything possible to change your situation. Now that tells me that you’ve got everything that you need to be successful at that, all you need is the right direction.
And once you’ll overcome your challenge; you will look to help others overcome their challenges. And that will bring you a tremendous joy! I strongly believe that anybody who is or has been suffering isn’t here just for themselves, but for many, many others who continue to suffer. Is your task to bring the relief to this world?

Just reading your question makes me feel so sad for you. However, I do not know what medication you are on but it sounds to me that it may not be suit you and you ought to try and discuss your meds with your doctor.
Have you had cognative therapy where you are made to face your demonds so you can get a better understanding as to why you feel the way you do.
Also do you have any family or friends to support you as it is very important that you do. Especially when the feeling of hopelessness takes over.
How I wish I could be more help, but talking does help , so perhaps you could join a group in your area of like minded people. And whilst you maynot like the idea at least you will not feel so isolated and lonely.
Time is a great healer I know as I have been where you are but it will take trust on your side and understanding on the other.
All the very best and I wish you peace of mind and contentment. It never completely goes the feeling but it can get better.

I have been battling depression along with 3 other mental illnesses. I can't give you an easy answer, but I would talk to my doctor about optional treatment plans. If you have been using the same medication for 4 years, chances are it's not working and it's time to move on to another treatment (including shock therapy). I don't know how to help you, but I do know it's time for a change.
Hang in there and I will pray for you.

I have the same exact problems depression and social anxiety disorder. The pills can work to a small extent, but its really something you need to push yourself with. You need to decide that you are no longer going to let these problems rule your life. It took me years but I keep making baby steps. I raise my hand in class a few times a semester now. I can call to get my haircut. But I can't do a lot of things still. I can't walk into stores and ask for help or ask about a job things like that. I can't talk in large groups of people, only with people I know well or one on one etc...

If you want to become a better singer and you can't afford expensive lessons with vocal coaches you should really try online programs. This one:
http://howtosing.toptips.org
in my opinion is the best online step-by-step system designed to improve your singing voice.
Whether you are a beginner or you have some singing skills, this tool can help you gain amazing vocal control, develop excellent pitch, unlock great tone, improve your vocal power, gain precise vocal agility, increase your vocal range and learn advanced signing techniques.
I used it and I saw great results. That's why I recommend it.

im in the same boat and you know last year instead of thinking when will all this depression stop i thought-im probably always going to have it so im going to try my best to get on with it. i have found a few self help books good but alongside the medication the best thing you can do is fill up your time-with absolutely anything. because when you are doing something your not thinking about it-i realised a long ago that time doing nothing is your worst enemy- i wish you luck and please email me if you think it would help x

Listen to the blues or even better learn to sing the blues and maybe play blues on guitar or other musical instrument. It may sound odd but many of the old bluesmen and women who really suffered from racism and poverty in the deep south of America really did gain a great deal of comfort from the blues. Many of them have said it helped them with their depression.

maybe explain to your therapist exactly how you have explained to us and see if she can give you a number of someone who may be able to help you more. She shouldnt feel offended so dont worry about saying anything like that.
I am going through depression myself and have found talking to other depression sufferers really helps. if you would like a chat, email me.
Good luck!

Hang in there, I know it is tough but well worth it. Maybe the pills will help some but you really need to work through your feelings with your therapist. I hope all goes well with you.
