Your active duty ID card serves as your passport worldwide whether your traveling for military business or personal pleasure. It does not take the place of a visa though.

I was always told that your green active duty ID card is as good as any passport. In todays mess with terrorists I would think of a passport as a backup as not to draw any attention to my status of being in the military though. Good luck to you.

Military personnel, when traveling with a unit, can go anywhere in the world without a passport.
