If someone wanted to be in the field, but could not go infantry because you they did not pass the color vision test, would you recommend 25c Radio Operator, or 68w Medic. And yes I know both jobs are not always assigned to infantry/field units. This is for career military, not doing 4 and out just for training.

well the answer all depends on how much time you actually want to spend in the field.

COMMO== they are the first ones out and the last ones in from the field. they will always be assigned to Infantry, combat MP , artillery , all of them .

Medics- they can be assigned to a training post or to a sick call clinic, or any other assignment

now you have heard that everyone loves the medics,,, well when i was in the commo guys made just as many of buddies as well. the decision is do u want to see bare butts to give shots or do u want to crawl to lay out hundreds of yards of wire setting up an entire units commo set up ,,, your choice

Well, man I feel your pain. That sucks, if you can't be infantry. I'd go combat medic. Or you could see about being a warrant officer. You'll get some kills that way. But if not infantry, then medic. Definitely. Make damned sure you can't get into it though. Try a medical waiver. Americans are pu**ies, so we're hurting for people in the infantry. See what they can do for you.

I was , once when young, colour blind, and infantry and a medic.

realised that field RTO's and Medics have a very, very high KIA rate.

Also realise as a "Doc' at least you are respected, "loved" - taken care of by all the grunts "11-B's" but you have to be "good", trained and willing?

Asking a great deal? Yes.

BTW: nobody asked or wanted me to call the "smoke" when I called in a med-evac "DUSTOFF" helicopter.
Do inquire if poor colour vision: will keep you out of the "PA" programme, etc..

"Joe Doc'' yes, I use British spelling.

How about 39G?

74G (39G) - Telecommunications Computer Operator / Maintainer

It's what I did and it was great experience. If you get tired of the military and change your mind about careers 39G sets you up for a fantastic well paying job.

this is referred to as a lat flow or latteral flow. i trust this is after 2 years yet you may want to invite your career counseler. by potential of ways do not allow all people question your personality. Even the Marine Corps bands might want to be deployed to Iraq.
