1. Breathing - at my age, this is REALLY important. I have to tell you, when they stop breathing on a date it is truly a bad, bad sign for how the rest of the relationship is going to go.
2. Hair - preferably ON their head, but sometimes you have to accept that it's going to be coming out their nose or their ears.
3. Teeth - Unless they have a dental appointment in the near future, I prefer my dates with teeth, whether it's their own or replacements. I'm not that picky.
4. Good hygiene - a man who can shower, brush their own teeth, and dress themselves is a definite keeper. If the attendant at the nursing home did it for them, I really need to look at all the other factors more closely.
5. Good manners - if they fall asleep over dinner, they should NOT land in their plate. Please refer to #1 and note that if they stop breathing, then landing in their plate becomes less important.
6. Self supporting - not just financially, but physically too. I am not going to pick them up and tote them around unless they come with a handle or wheels. I'm getting old, and I really don't think I can do that anymore.

That's pretty much it. Think I'm aiming my sights too high?

the purpose of a date is for the people dating to become acquainted with each other and decide whether they want to have a serious relationship.

During dates, people often explore each other's personalities, to discover whether or not they would be compatible together in a relationship. Usually, if the two individuals discover that they have poor or low compatibility, it signals the end of the relationship and there will be no "second date," and often no further communication at all.
