Ibuprofen is an analgesic in the NSAID category. Skelaxin is a muscle relaxant with an unclear mechanism of action. You're comparing apples and oranges, but in general muscle relaxants offer little added benefit when compared to analgesics alone when dealing with, say, back strain. Some (not the most desirable) patients like them because they give you a little bit of a buzz.

Skelaxin is a skeletal muscle relaxant. Ibuprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug used for pain caused by inflammation. You're trying to compare "an apple to an orange." They are frequently used together, especially when there's an injury and both effects are needed.

Be well.

You can not compare them They do different jobs. Ibuprofen is an NSAID pain killer. Skelaxin is a muscle relaxer used in arthritis cases. I did not find any conflict between these drugs so you can probably take them both at the same time.

Ibuprofen is commonly used to alleviate mild to moderate pain. Skelaxin is a muscle relaxant used to treat spasms. It is possible for both to be prescribed to be taken together but not for the same thing so the strength is not applicable here.
