Yes, you can communicate with your cat. You have to talk a lot to her, repeat a lot the same thing so that they would get it. If you communicate enough with them, as they get older, they catch up new words quicker. Also very important thing, just as your cat read your body language and tone of your voice, you just have to do the same thing with her. Meow isn't always meow. Sometimes it means I'm hungry, sometimes it's I'm bored, or I want this or that.... In time you can tell a difference. Just like with babies. When you're mom, in time when you hear your baby crying, you can tell if you need to give her/him food or change the diaper. ;-)

Nope, cats like most animals are very good at reading body language. A flick of a tail and how its flicked means something, I can tell when my cat is ticked off at the other cat just by watching the tail. So can the other cat who takes great joy in it.

Yes the have different sounds when there with other cats,I have a kitten and she makes a different sound when she with Midnight my bigger cat, their not mother/daughter my kitten is from other cat the I got for free outside of walmart. Then I have a much older cat (cheetah) that not friendly with my kitten and she will make a different kind of sound like she sub-mittimg. But cheetah want nothing to do with her.

I think they do. have you ever seen two cats just sittin there and staring at each other? well..i think they're talking.
and they can tell how you feel by the tone of your voice when you talk to them. they also memorize commands. catz r the best!
