Actually this is accurate, and I'm not religious at all. You can actually prove it mathematically. If you were to make a massive tree diagram and traced back everyone's roots, you would find that incest was common before the 20th century and especially prevalant before the middle ages. Keep in mind most incest was between cousins however.

Genesis 4:17 says, "Cain lay with his wife, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Enoch." Who was his wife? It is implied in the biblical text that Cain married one of his sisters. Several facts lead us to this conclusion.
First, it is clear that Adam and Eve had a number of children. Genesis 5:4 says, "After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters." Since Adam and Eve were the first man and woman, and since God had commanded them (and their descendants) to be fruitful and multiply (Genesis 1:28), it seems reasonable to conclude that Cain married one of his many sisters. It is also possible that he married a niece or even a grandniece.
One must keep in mind that in the early years of the human race there were no genetic defects that had yet developed as a result of the fall of man. By the time of Abraham, God had not yet declared this kind of marriage to be contrary to His will (see Genesis 20:12). Laws governing incest apparently did not become enacted until the time of Moses (Lev 18:7-17; 20:11,12,14,17,20,21). Hence, there was no prohibition regarding marrying a sister (or niece or grandniece) in the days of Cain.

Maybe you ask the wrong person. Anyway your wrong. there was other forms of life about. And if you read genesis chp. 1 v 27. you will find God, had already started creating m/f ,and told them to replinish the earth.
Now between this time, and chp. 2. no one knows how much time had passed. In chp.2 God was done with his work. Some time passes and God creates Adam. So between chp.1 & chp2 man was already on earth before Adam was created. Now anything could of happened between chp. 1 & 2. Now we find Adam in chp.2 And Adam was placed in the garden. to tend it. Now how do you figure Adam had any children before, Cain and Able. When Cain was the first born, and Able was the second born. And this wasn't til lafter they were banned from the garden. Then one must consider how much time passed from when they were cast from the garden, and Cain killed Able.
Then you would need to figure out, and why is it it dosen't speak of Adam having any more children till Cain had left for the land of Nod. Now if we jump to chp.5 you will find Adam didn'thave another son till 130 years later. Now in order for Cain to marry his sister, she would of had to be born around the same time as Cain. But you know what, believe what you want. but if you read Genesis, all you need is common sense to figure it out. Man was created in chp 1
Adam wasn't created until chp.2 Adam did not have any children until, he was cast from the garden. But you know what? I'm sure you will find something else to make it look like Cain married his sister, just because you have no proof that he didn't. Just to drag it out and try to make God a liar, or just to disprove the bible as some book of fiction. Beleive what you want.

Correct, although many conservatives would argue God made more people, of course that would negate the whole Adam and Eve concept, which if believed would make incest ok.
Round and round it goes.......

I asked that question to a Christian one day. I was told that after they left the garden, there were other people on the planet. But where did they come from??
