Looking for a quick and easy recipe- I thought the whiting was breaded (on the package it was) until I opened the bag and saw plain filets.

The recipe doesnt HAVE one to bread the fish- just anything that will make a delicious meal. :o)

Since whiting is such a delicate fish, I would poach them in a little salted water. Sprinkle with a little garlic powder, salt and pepper and serve with brown rice...butter over all of it. It is really quite nice.

I think that whiting tends to flake, so I would recommend breading and frying or broiling in the oven. My parents used to have a fish and chips store, and they would sell tons of fried whiting. It would be battered and breaded, then deep fried. It's a bit oily/stinky so a good squeeze of lemon on top works great. Their customers would eat it in a sandwich.
