Could God do anything he wanted to, but he doesn't want anything because he is God so he does nothing?

God does not want anything becouse he is everything, creation too. He has everything in himself and works and creates from his own recources. Creation is to glorify god.

You certainly have not read the bible. He has been involved in man's history more than you know.
