I'm getting a picture of heaven from Christians who post here that doesn't sound like the way I'd want to spend eternity.

No sex, no lust, no pets, no internet, no football, no fun at all. Just sit around praising god and each other for eternity. I mean seriously, who would want to spend forever at the old folks home?

The key point to remember is there is no need for the things you mentioned when you think about it. Once you return to being a pure spirit uninhibited by the things of the world that distract you from seeing things through the eyes of a pure spirit, you will be grateful that you have known the truth and followed.

Heaven isn't supposed to be a party, but it will be far from an old fogies home.

I used to think Heaven was like that too, but I know better now. There are things trillions of times better than sex and stuff. I don't see why you couldn't play football and their are animals there. I hear the love emanating from God for all of us there is way better than the best orgasm and better than any drug. You can do what you want but of course there is nothing evil going on. Whatever you can imagine there becomes real. I'm 100% sure that we won't just be sitting around praising God the whole time and doing nothing else.
Now I can't say what it is they do exactly but just try imagining all the funnest things you could do times a trillion! We won't just be stuck there either, we will have the opportunity to go through time if we want and see all the other worlds in the universe! The things to do there will be without limit, trust me!

Eight years ago I got heat stroke in Georgia and was rushed to the hospital. When I woke up the next day I was told that I had died for a little over a minute but was brought back. All I remember was being under water. I didn't feel the need to breath. It was very calm and the water was very soothing. I was moving forward, under the water at a high speed and it was the most amazing feeling I've ever felt.

Anyway, I think Heaven (or as I call it, the Summerland) is like that. Nature's beauty all around us. No pollution, no war, just the bounty of Mother Earth all around us.

Exactly. I think there's a bit in the bible that describes heaven as a crowd of people singing hymns and praise. Sort of like a church service that never ends. Gimme a break.

However, I understand that Islamic heaven is better than Christian heaven. Okay, I'm not Islamic but I saw Barbara Walters interview some Muslim poobah on TV and this guy describes Muslim heaven as a place where you have all the intellectual and physical and sensual pleasures you could possibly imagine (including unlimited debauchery) forever and with no limits.

No wonder Islam is the fastest growing religion.
