I've never been to a wine tasting so I don't know what to expect. Should I decline the invitation?

You should go and keep an open mind. There should be lots of food to try along with other beverages so you won't be stuck without anything to consume if you don't find anything that works for you. You don't have to drink all that much at a tasting event, just enough to get to your tastebuds so you don't have to expose yourself too much. As a tasting newbie, you might want to skip the early, dry wines and focus on the sweeter wines as they are more accessible to those not so into wine.

It is a very nice time and i found that there is some realy nice tasting wines out there, ididnt care for the dry wine but there is some realy good tasting wet wines out there so my advice is go and try it out you might actualy have a good time and find some wines that you might realy enjoy. Good luck and have fun. Let us know how it turns out.

If you don't care for wine, I would consider declining. Why go to anything you won't enjoy?

I love wine, but you've already stated you don't like wine, so I'm not a fan of the "go you might learn something" reasoning. I'm not a fan of trying to convert people to drinking wine anymore than I am a fan of evangelical Christians doing something similar.

If you have never been to one, go and enjoy yourself. Chances are, if it is done properly, you will get a sample of many different wineries, types, colors, and bodies. You may find out that there are some wines you will like.

If you don't like it, just sip it and enjoy the company. I hosted one and three (of the 12 invited) said that they don't like wine but were really happy they came.

Go for the experience. If you've never been to one before, you may end up liking it more than you expect.

Go. Ask questions. Try a few wines. Learn something.

Wine tastings in Napa Valley usually offer soda and water or club soda for alternatives. Just say you're the designated driver. People respect that. Have fun and network with people. Just mingle. It'll be fun!

(Take a handful of business cards with you.)

Many wine tastings are actually opportunities to educate the attendees.

I suggest you go - try a few sips with an open mind..

Water is usually available to cleanse the palate.

Go, they don't just have wine. They offer food and soft drinks as well. Volunteer to be the designated driver (because you are on medication and can't drink).
