Yes they do have to send you your W2s by law. To be on the safe side you should do a written request, but for your own information you are correct.

Yes by law they are surpose to send it. If you no longer work there, it is possible that they don't know where you are. When you leave the job an employer, thinks you have jumped off the face of the earth.
You may have to contact them to request your W2.

Assuming you are a dependent on your parent's tax return, you should go pick up your W-2 and file a return if one of the following is true: 1) You made more than $5,700 last year, or 2) You had federal income tax withheld from your earnings regardless of how much you made. If you made more than $5,700 last year, you are required by law to file a return. If you had federal income tax withheld and did not make more than $5,700, you can file a return and get all of that withholding refunded to you. Edit to add: It is not too late to file. Although the original filing deadline was April 15, if you are due a refund you have up to three years from the deadline to file and claim that refund. If you owe, interest and penalties began accruing on April 15 and will continue to accrue until you file and pay the taxes due.

Yes, by law they have to send you your W2 no later than January 31st. If you don;t receive it, you can call them directly (make sure they have your current address) or you can also call the RID directly to complain that you have not received it or that they are withholding it from you.
