France become occupied through the Germans at the same time as u . s . of america entered the conflict. individuals as well as British Troops liberated France from the Germans the substantial offensive began on D-Day. The British and American forces landed on the seashores of Normandy and commenced the offensive which eventualy liberated France and something else of Europe.

But after this, during both D-Day and Anvil the US invaded Nazi held France and Vichy - with or without permission from the Vichy (read puppet Nazi govt).

Yes, honey. How else could the Germans be forced to leave? That's what "D-Day" was all about, remember? It was the day that the Allied (British-American) invasion of France began in 1944 to recapture France from the Nazis.

"Allowed" may not be the right word. The US, along with the other allies, invaded first in Normandy and later in the South of France.

Not being silly or hateful, but, did they teach you anything in schoo? Do they still teach History in School? Wow. I just looked at my proerty tax bill and 61 cents out of every dollar went for education. Think I'm getting short gypped on this one!!!
