I'm a former student and have 3 W-2 forms, need some help with certain forms.

Try www.irs.gov . they have a link for free online filing. You just type in teh amounts, it will tell you which boxes to get the inforamtion from.

Are the W-2's the only tax forms you have? Did you pay any student loan interest? Have any other income like interest on a savings accout? If the W-2's are all you have, it's fairly easy. You mention "certain forms" which sounds like you have other types of income also - if the W-2's are all you have, you'd just need one form.

Basically you just enter on each line the total of what the line instruction say. Add up the wages from the W-2s, they go on the wage line. Interest on the interest line. Withholding on pg 2 withholding line. Number of exemption, people you support. Standard deduction amount is determined by your filing status; single, head of household, married etc. Tax is from taking your taxable income to the tax tables. Re: the certain forms, I can't help if I don't know the forms/problems etc. It is not hard to do a simple, wages etc., non itemized deductions tax return. A tax program makes it easier. No need to pay someone to do it if you can read the form and follow instructions.
