If I use water and wine in my hookah pipe and smoke through the mixture, am I inhaling any alcohol? I have heard that it is a good mixture, but due to medical reasons I cannot have alcohol, so I am wondering if it is a safe practice or if alcohol actually does get introduced into the bloodstream through the smoke.

yes, you do have some alcohol inhalation going on there. for percentages & dilutions U might wanna contact your Hookah dealer or manufacturer.
the basic thing for a Hookah is to kool down the temperature of the smoke of whatever it is you've been smoking. so if it's just tobacco then U are consuming tobacco & if there is a mixture of alcohol in those fumes then yes, U are consuming alcohol.
Alcohol's boiling point is already lower than water's. so, the smoke would bubble thru the alcohol, get cooled, & rise to the top. as the alcohol cools, some of that energy goes into evaporation, & the evaporated alcohol mixes into the smoke you are dragging on. sorry i can't get too specific. i don't do Hookahs.

I'm not %100 but i would think that the alcohol would evaporate if it gets hot enough and i guess you would be inhaling it.. If your smoking weed i wouldnt suggest it because alcohol filters some of the THC so you dont get as good of a smoke. I'm just going to assume that it would do the same with tobacco. Just use some nice ice water thats been in the freezer for half an hour.

Alcohol can be absorbed by the lungs and some bars have machines built to do that, However scientifically with the heat you would be adding there should be very little alcohol vaporized. Alcohol that enters the blood stream via the lungs is metabolized very quickly

Well in theory dropping dry ice into alcohol and then inhaling the vapor that comes out sends ethanol directly into your bloodstream

it does make you intoxicated. the smoke bubbles through the alcohol and causes alcohol to be added to the tobacco smoke. things you inhale get absorbed into your blood stream, so i would assume so. it tastes very good with white wine though.

probably a very little.. I had a boyfriend once who would inhale smoke from an expensive cigar and blow it into scotch in a brandy stifter and then inhale it.. wow.. I tried it.. beautiful.. not something you should probably do every day.. but VERY VERY luxiourious.

You might want to check with your doctor on this one. They would probably have the right answer even though heat does kill alcohol.
