It is illegal to sell your bodyparts, but thats not to say people dont do it. A kidney on the black market is worth much more than $5000 by the way.

I have often thought about this as well. I've actually heard you can get 10 grand on the black market for one. But I quit thinking about it once I found out about the repurcussions of getting rid of one of your kidneys. First off, there is a chance the doctors might not successfully get it out of you (without some problems) and this can lead to blood poisoning, extreme pain in the side, and even death. If they do get it out of you and sealed back up, I heard ppl with only one kidney have to go to the bathroom like 20 times a day and you are more likely to get kidney stones which are the Most excruciating pain ever. I don't think the 5 grand or even 10 grand is worth the pain in the *** your left with for the rest of your life. Think about it and I think you will agree. Good luck.

It may seem like a funny question (seriously.) It isn't. I have had a kidney transplant and I waited 7 years on dialysis for a donor one that matched up. 7 years of severe dietary restrictions, arterial-venous fistulas to access my bloodline, parathyroid extraction, cramps, transfusions.... Sign an organ donor card and tell someone about it. They can't take your organs even if you signed a card if your next of kin doesn't approve it. Make it known that you are willing to save someone else's life when yours is over.

NO!!!!! you can donate a kidney, but that puts the load on just one. You have two for a reason.....5 grand for a major surgery, and the possibility a dialysis later in life .....no way!....I would save a family member or my own daughter if needed but otherwise no.

Sorry, kidneys (or any other human body part) cannot be sold. It is illegal. Keep your kidneys. You may need them later on!
You can donate them to a relative or to another kidney patient. You won't get any money from that, either.

I couldn't just sit around and do nothing like my doctors suggested.
They didn't want me to do anything or to take herbs or herbal remedies, but I had to try something - they just wanted me to do dialysis!
This program allowed me to take control of my health. I went from Stage 4 to Stage 3 kidney disease.
It was easy to do and my BUN, creatinine and anemia are all in better ranges.
