There are meds to help dissolve small stones, and they can go in to remove large ones. But mostly they have to pass thought the
urinary tract on their own. From what I understand, that is one of the more painfull things a human can go through.
Lots of liquids will help prevent them from getting bigger (by flushing the system.) I don't envy your sister. Good luck....

You go to the doctor and they usually treat it with ultrasounds to break it up small enough so they can pass while not doing any harm to the patient.

sometimes they let it pass naturally and have the person catch it in a strainer so it can be analyzed to find out what caused it...

sometimes they will break it down with an ultrasound device if it is too big to pass naturally

or sometimes they will have to do surgery...

it is all up to your sister's urologist.......

If it is small you will often be able to urinate it out. It will be painful though. If it is large surgery may be necessary. I suggest seeing a doctor.

Depends. Sometimes they pass on their own (very painful), sometimes your doctor will ultrasound them to break them apart. You really need to visit your doc to determine what's best.
