I have been on and off Prozac with no real withdrawal symptoms that i have noticed having said that it takes a while for it to leave your system so might have had them and put it down to something else such as a cold, either way not bad enough for me to remember them so i guess my answer is no.Hope that helps

Yes, I suffered withdrawals for 2-1/2 months. Sides effects were horrible. The tremors were the big factor in me getting off of it. Be prepared to get off of it slowly, like getting your dosage to a lower MG. I think 37.5MG is the lowest. My doctor gave me Xanax to help with the tremors. It has everything to do with your nerves too. So, make sure you talk to you doctor to see if he/she can supplement you another medication while getting off of Prozac. It can be very dangerous and messy for your emotions if you try to go cold turkey. Good luck and hope this helps.

I have suffered through withdrawal symptoms with every single anti depressant I have taken. Some of them, the withdrawal is not long lasting and some of them have taken months to get out of my system. In every instance, my doctor has kept close tabs on me with alternative medicine available to get me through the withdrawal period with as little discomfort as possible. The important thing is to communicate with your health care provider. He/she can tell if your withdrawal symptoms require medical intervention.

I've taken cipramil (not prozac) and never had any withdrawal symptoms with it.
The key thing with SSRI's is to stop taking the meds gradually.
