Zoloft will not solve your problems entirely. Plus, know this. Drugs such as that take approximately 1 month to build in the system. You will not see any true effects until a month or so has passed. Depression will still come at times - but only over significant things. The little things - you will let slide.
Your body is adjusting. Let it take effect. And don't consider it a "solve all" drug. It's not. None of them are. They only help you to not get upset over minor issues - not get upset so much. More pressing issues will still cause depression. Zoloft is a bandaid - not surgery.

I've been on Zoloft for 5 years. When I first started I had no appetite like you. After a little while, it came back, and I actually gained almost 50 pounds while on it.. so be careful what you eat, it took a long time and a lot of excersize to get the weight off.
As far as still feeling depressed.. you may not feel the total effects of the meds for a while, sometimes longer then a month. Don't give it up though, it's made a world of difference in my life!

I have known lots of people who experienced decreased appetite the first few weeks they took Zoloft. Unfortunately that was not the case for me. Zoloft was never particularly effective for me, personally, which was a big disappointment since I knew other people for whom it was tremendously effective. Have taken it off and on for about 15 years and all it does is make me NUMB. I am not depressed anymore but I feel like a zombie.

For me Zoloft has been great. I did have an appetite problem for about 6 weeks. I also experience dry mouth a lot during that 1st six weeks. Zoloft has greatly reduced stress, anxiety, and obsessive thinking for me. Hang in there. I know you will be fine and I want you to believe that! OK
BELIEVE IT!

Zoloft turned me into a zombie. I didn't feel at all- depressed or otherwise. You need to switch your medication out.. that dosen't sound like its working the way it should.Anti-depressants can cause weird side effects in people under 25. Go back to your doctor!

I was diagnosed with unipolar depression as a teenager; but when I was given Prozac, which is a similar drug to Zoloft (they're both SSRI's) I started exhibiting manic symptoms (some of which include large bursts of energy, rapid mood swings, and loss of appetite) and this eventually helped me to be diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
You need to contact your doctor immediately and let him know what's been happening.

I am not saying it won't help you- i suppose it does help some people. I was prescribed zoloft, but not for depression.
I hated it, it never worked and only made me worse. the effects i noticed were: impotence, jitteryness, tingling in the palms of my hand, nightmares, excessive yawning.
here's the fact- zoloft, prozac, and paxil are drugs designed to sell to ppl for the rest of their lives. that just doesn't sound right, and it isn't right. my advice is to seek other means of rehabbing yourself and not take any kind of drug long term that will mess up your brains firing system permanently.
