I have developed a new way of making framed pictures and do my own art on these types of oil paintings. I am scared if and when I come out with this many other will think of my idea as a good one and start copying it making there own profits. Is there any law in the book protecting this?

You cannot copyright a STYLE of painting. You also cannot Copyright a SUBJECT. You can copyright each painting you create and you should if you feel there will be a market for it.

If you are speaking of making FRAMES that would be different. If you wish to Patent the method, then you should seek out a Copyright and Patent attorney and get this idea patented.

People get too concerned about others stealing their ideas. My view on that is "go ahead and try". It'll take them a while to figure it out and by then they will probably lose interest because it isn't what they do naturally.

it is not likely that you are the only one doing what you may consider a new type of painting...information like this comes from other dimentions and never to just one person but to several at the same time, so if you see some of my artwork and it looks like i may be copying you, beware...you may be copying me.
