is it possible for your brain to swell? I have massively painful migrains and can not figure out what is causing them, they hurt so bad it just feels like my brain is swelling. I've been to a neurologist she put on all different kinds of meds which just made it worse if anything. I've tried getting a new pillow, I've tried changing my eating habits, I've tried breathing exercises but nothing seems to work. Anyone got any other ideas?

Theres a portion in the new Readers Digest if you get that on headaches. Its titled '10 questions to ask your doc' or something like that. Anyways, see if the headaches get better immediately upon laying flat. If it does, then you might be leaking spinal fluid. Ask your doctor if this what's happening

As a Certified Hypnotist, I have seen and actually suffered from tremendous throbbing headaches - most of which are attributed to stress....this may not be the case with you, but if your brain was swelling you would be experiencing nausea on a regular basis...do you have any new stress in your life? Fear or losing job, spouse, etc.....? If you need further direction, let me know..
