whatever it states on the warranty, but never waste your money on extended warranties. if you get a leaflet from your trading standards it will state 'warranties' could be up to 6 yrs, without buying an extension, under The Sale and Supply of Goods Act 1994

It depends entirely on the manufacturer - the minimum is 12 months from new.
NAD offer 2 years as standard on their electronics.
Jamo offer 7 years as standard on their high-end speakers.
Rega offer a lifetime warranty on all their turntables.
The better quality the kit, the longer the standard warranty will be.

standard guarantee/warranty is 1 year from date of purchase, this is usually given with the option of extended cover, up to 5 years.
some manufacturers will offer different terms, some items will even come with a lifetime guarantee.....but the guarantee only usually covers 'normal useage' so if you decide to use a brand new cordless drill to knock a few nails in.......
remember though, you also have your statutory rights, but that is anothe rmatter.

Generally, it is a uniform 12 month warranty for most electrical goods, however, you may be able to extend that for upto five years

12 months normally. John Lewis in the U.K. gives an extended warranty for t.v.'s (a further 2 years).
