how come people say?

people say they would rather be with some one who is poor and ugly so they can have a happy life but the reality is that they still choose the rich nice looking pretty boy. it makes me mad. why do you think that

That is often purposed as a means of keeping a husband or wife for the long term, because in many cases humans born without the natural gift of beauty find themselves developing high intellects or intriguing personalities to combat their social woes, though not in all cases. Many late blossoming people have the best of both worlds.

In real life though people want good sex, and financial security, therefor if they can find both in one mate with a good gene pool (regardless whether this is actively looked for or not, but it is the reason people don't actively seek to marry people with aids...etc)
They will take the opportunity.

What, you mean like Bill Gates? Or perhaps you were referring to Lance Bass? Tee hee...couldn't resist. :-)

Love is what it is...you can't change who you fall in love with. Anyone who picks a romantic partner based on what's in their wallet is doomed to a failed relationship.

Sometimes, guys who don't have a lot of money, or who don't think they're attractive, reflect their feelings of inadequacy outward. By the same token, guys who have money in their pockets, and who are comfortable with their looks, project their confidence outwardly. Self confidence (but not arrogance) is very sexy.

But we can only guess at another person's motivations, and we can do nothing to control them, so worrying about it is not worth the time.
