Usually, the uncooked pasta is about 1/2 the measurement of the cooked, so you need 1/2 cup dry to make 1 cup cooked!

The ratio is 3 to 1, cooked to dry.

1lb of dry pasta is 3 lbs of cooked pasta, so you need 1/3 cup of dry pasta.
