I am tired of seeing the mass amounts of money that Churches and religious ORDERS are gaining placing the same old tired lines of BE SAVED or BE DAMNED into the minds of cowards. Cowards because they can not accept that life is a one-time shot. IT JUST CAN'T BE! Oh no I'M GONNA DIE! Animals fear death as well-but they have a natural instinct to survive-they too FACE THE STRUGGLES of Life each day. I have seen them kill-are they sinners? Your beloved dog bites a child-is it evil? You Love it-the parents of the child want to condem it-Why? Because it hurt something they love-So I AM condemned me because as a Realist I bite THEIR GOD-something THEY love-but I believe that THEY are accepting a lie and therefore I am trying to SAVE THEM-save THEM from the perils of prejudice. THEY have accepted an "order" that promotes submit or Burn-a gun at Their heads-& to all of those that do not submit they will state-YOU ARE GOING TO HELL! Creating Hell here on Earth! WE Need organization!HOW

This GREAT nation, in case you forgot or choose to ignore it, had its beginning on religious freedom and practice. It is great precisely because at its foundation, the founding fathers chose to acknowledge the Creator.

Go ahead, continue to try to take out the foundation stone from this GREAT nation and see what happens...You end up with rubble.

Where else in the world would a muslim be permitted to a government position by replacing that nation's holy book with another? Iran? Egypt? Afghanistan?

It isn't the religious right that is ruining any chance for peace and a chance to organize. It is our inibility as a species to genuinely accept the beliefs, customs and morals of others. We say we do but deep down we do not. We know what has to be done yet we cannot. I am not a trekkie but there is alot to be learned from the show. The fundamental reason that earthlings acheived peace in the show was because they were able to do this. Each person practices his/her own beliefs yet still has a common goal and only one HUMANITY. The war like part to me is a bit much but fundamentaly that is and always has been the only way. Environmental factors are the only reason people beleive what they do, we are not BORN with a beleif, these are learned through parents, peers and outside stimuli. If we were taught at birth to accept others regardless or race, relgion or class the rest would follow. Narrow minded ness, bigotry and violence is what stops us from doing this. The only way we can ever do this is to stop voting for people to lead countries but rather vote for people to lead the world.

Right. That's why the U.N has been so great at stopping genocide worldwide since it's first days. They can't even get the countries together to help eradicate malaria let alone people like Saddam Hussein. Just blame it on religion to push an anti- God and America message to the rest of the world. Religion also needs to understand that self preservation of the society at whole is more important the religious rights in today's world of terrorism. Look at how Islam terrorist have no problem with Hijab wearing woman suicidal bombers anymore.

Well, as an ATHEIST Buddhist AND a REALIST, my opinion is that I think you're perception of a "great nation" is biased, based on your own views and perceptions. Not all people would necessarily agree with you.

When actual HARM is committed then you must stand up and correct the person causing the harm, otherwise of the harm is simply to the ego or self-cherishment, then more skillful behavior would be to learn how to cultivate a calmer mind. PEOPLE cause harm and use religion as an excuse, logically the same way you're using religion as an excuse for your anger. Not very logical is it?

Go beyond... way beyond... your perceptions and narrow conceptions and be calm.

How does a group of people who believe in only good things and only want good things evil? Yes, life is a one shot deal, so you better get it right because once you die, there is no changing your beliefs then. In your eyes, christians are wrong.....so what? It's not like it's the crusades and people are dying for not believing! People say things I don't like to hear everyday, but I'm an adult and I ignore them.

Also, churches get their money from their members, you think the government funds them? So it's not like they're stealing money from their members. People give if they want to give and don't if they don't want to or can't.

And are you really going to compare you're life to an animal's? You don't think you're a little higher on the food chain, a little smarter than them?

And letting people know the consequences of their life is not a gun to their heads. Yes, it is scary thinking about hell and what could happen, but it's not a threat. It's how it's gonna be. We aren't trying to scare you, we are warning you. It's like a mother telling her child, if you do it one more time you're gonna get a spanking. She isn't trying to scare her child, she's trying to warn them about the consequences of their actions. Because once it's done and you realize the truth, there's no going back and making things right.

What is so great about this nation? That we have the most stuff and the most money? Big deal. We're also statistically the fattest and most poorly educated industrialized country in the world.

And no respectable religion would MAKE you submit to anything. I've read about alot of different religions and I haven't come across one that uses coersion as a recruiting tactic...those are called "cults."

You have free will. You dont HAVE to believe in anything, but then you most also be prepared to accept any consequences of your decision. It's your call.

We have to settle in those religious states, spread our own brand of devangelism, and show them that non-religious people can also be good and ethical, definitely even more than religious hypocrites. Give it 2 generations and the world will probably be in a much better place. They come to us and evangelise, it's time we too go to them and DEVANGELISE.

It starts with voting. Do your research on the candidates and be sure to vote for the ones who deal with the real issues and leave the church out of politics (as it should be). We got a good start with the last election...we need to keep on keeping on.

Well, you can start by clothing and feeding the homeless, finding jobs for the jobless, providing shelter for the poor, stopping wars, bring peace, heal the sick, find a cure for AIDs and cancer, and all the other stuff you seem to expect God to do.
