It depends on how many teeth you have to have pulled. I had mine done recently & I'm telling you the pain has been pretty bad. If I could do over again I would have a few at a time pulled, let them heal & get dentures after last few teeth are pulled. The immediate denture irritates your gums even more. The less teeth, the less pain.

I had ALL my teeth at one time pulled about a year ago. To be honest with you, the pain was NOTHING. I had more pain pulling my hamstring than when my teeth were pulled, maybe I have a high tolerance to pain, but it was nowhere near what I thought it would be. Just when they give you your meds, make sure you take them as directed, if they say take one every 4 hours, DO IT. I think the anxiety is the worst part of it all. Yes your gums are gonna be sore, but that is a given. In my opinion it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Just be sure to go out and get some benzondent (for braces and denture pain and sores) It is safe to put on sore spots you're gonna get from dentures, even on the extraction sites its safe to put it. Good Luck.

I just had dental implant surgery yesterday on 3 teeth (upper). It wasn't half as painful as I was expecting and I went in for my temporary flippers this morning. Although I was in some pain yesterday, I had a little swelling and my jaw ached a bit right after surgery but a day later (today) I don't feel too bad considering. I only took one Tylenol 3 afterwards for the pain. A little tender but I know by tomorrow I will be fine! I even ate hashbrowns, eggs and sausages for brunch today!

If it's implants you are talking about, I say go for it. If I can do it, anyone can and the end result will be so great you will wonder why you ever hesitated.

Best of luck!

Personally I don't have them but my mom got them a few months age and she had her's done separately. She had her bottom teeth pulled, then upper. She was in pain but I think it's better to have them all done rather than go through it twice. I remember my grandpa having his all pulled at once but don't quite remember if it was painful for him. My mom cancelled her appointment twice before she went through the whole procedure.

Don't know if that's any help but hope it helps.
