I took T3 and T4 thyroid medications thinking they would help me lose weight -- however, I don't think I have a thyroid problem (I was never diagnosed by a doctor, I don't have health insurance).

Is it going to be even harder to lose weight if I stop taking them, especially if I never needed them to begin with?

Taking the pills when you didn't need them may actually slow down thyroid function in time and eventually make you hypothyroid. These meds are not weight loss meds. They don't even help with weight loss for those with thyroid problems. My suggestion is stop them immediately before you damage your thyroid gland.

That wasn't a smart thing to do for any reason, thyroid hormones are powerful and specific in how they work in the body.Wish people would stop listening to folks who have no medical background tout these remedies and pills they claim will cure arthritis to cancer. If there was any legitimate medical studies that would back-up these "miracle" cures, the world be beating down the doors, and the medical communities would welcome them with open arms. Medical care is expensive, but it's your health & well-being at risk,so its worth it,always. SW RNP
