If he continues to lose weight I would get a second vet opinion.

You need to take your dog to another vet. If he's lost weight, that is a sigh that something is wrong, as is not eating and acting lethargic.

It could be anything, no one on here would be able to tell you. Your dog probably needs some bloodwork to see if anything is going on that way. Get a second opinion or go back to your original vet and make them do some tests.

Lethargy and weight loss are signs of illness. Could be worms, could be Parvo, could be an infection....

Check to see if your dog has a fever. (Use a rectal thermometer; anything over 102 is not good.)

Take your dog to another vet and get a second opinion; and take a sample of the dog's poo with you (in a Ziploc bag) so the vet can test it for parasites and disease.

You know what's "normal" for your pet and what isn't. If your first vet refused to take your concerns seriously, go to one who will.

Go to another vet ASAP because these are the symptoms of poisoning [Anti-Freeze mostly]
